About Habitat Ledger

Habitat Ledger is a Texas company. It was built to make one job easier: keeping the records that protect an ag or wildlife management valuation, so you have proof ready when the appraisal district asks.

Who's behind it

I'm Adam McLaughlin. I live in Highland Village, in Denton County, and I've hunted Texas ranches since I was a teenager. I'm a member of the Texas Wildlife Association and Texas Trophy Hunters.

The work on the land is the easy part to love. The proof is the hard part: phone photos, feed store receipts and notes from the truck, all pieced together when the appraisal district's deadline comes around.

Habitat Ledger puts those records in one place. Log a head count or a wildlife practice from the pasture, snap the photo, scan the receipt, and the app keeps your county's deadline and standards in front of you. On wildlife land it builds your annual report from what you've logged; on ag land it prints a proof packet when the district asks.

What we are, and aren't

Habitat Ledger is record-keeping software. It doesn't replace your wildlife biologist, ag consultant, CPA or appraisal district, and consultants use it to keep their clients' records too.

Keep the records that protect your valuation

Habitat Ledger keeps your head counts or practice logs, dated photos and receipts in one place, shows your county's deadlines and standards, reminds you before they're due, and prints your annual report or ag proof packet. Every account starts with a 30-day free trial, and the free plan keeps your deadline reminders after that.
